Our Spider

A few days ago I was out back searching for a bunch of these little guys for the girls:
I think they are so cool. =) When I was a kid Kelyn and I would collect these and play with them. I'm reliving my childhood through my girls. =) Anyway, check out the cool spider I found! It's a Black and Yellow Garden Spider and I pretty much love it. I was told that when she gets pregnant she'll be huge! Apparently, a male spider (much smaller than her) will come along and strum on her web (how romantic!) and she will either love him or try to kill him.

I found this picture online - look how big she is!!

Wait a minute. I thought you hated bugs? I distinctly remember a trip to the park where you were deeply concerned a bee was going to attack my baby for having a flower headband. There was even some jumping a screaming as I recall. :)

You're right Amy! I'm not a fan of bugs - especially bees, wasps, and cockroaches. =) This spider is in the very, very, very back part of our yard and isn't venomous so I'm not too nervous. =) AND those other things we collect are just the leftover skins. =)

That is disgusting! I think I just may have nightmares tonight. How can you not kill it? Aren't you afraid it is going to crawl on your face in the night? just saying :).

Well my dear. That is just about gross! Spiders are my least favorite thing and we have more than our darn share here in Dallas. Good grief! How are you my friend? I would reply to the Thanksgiving email, but Steve and I have to figure out a plan because it just so happens that as of right this minute Steve is scheduled to work the day after Thanksgiving. Lame! I will call you soon. Love you!

If your spider gets as big as the one you found online are you going to charge admission for people to come and see it?

Ummmm a preggers spider equals one bazillion more spiders! Any time you see anything with more than 4 legs...you smash it and then smear it with whatever you smashed it with. I...like a previous commenter...fear the "walking across my face in the night" because that has happened. Nope...kill it! I am going to be feeling things crawling on me all day because of the up close and personal pic!!! Kill it!

Yikes!! Looks like you guys are loving Texas! I have a quick Q for you: I wanted to do Joy school with Jackson and was wondering which joy school you use and if you like it?
