Memorial Weekend

We had quite the full house over Memorial weekend! It was our turn to watch the Soter's kids while they had a fun weekend trip. =) Here are some pictures from our crazy weekend!

We gave Thomas a faux hawk and had a good laugh! He's a good sport. =)

The kids went out back to play and took matters into their own hands. They went swimming in their clothes!

Heather and Aaron were nice enough to have us and our hoard of kids over! It was lots of fun!

Mandi and Steve came back on Sunday afternoon and then stayed with us for another day! We had big plans to go to the river on Memorial day but when we got there we found ourselves in a super long line of cars! We waited for awhile and then turned around and came home. We filled up the pools in the backyard and the kids probably had just as much fun as they would have had at the river. It was great! Here is Kes in her goggles - I think this picture is hilarious!

We love you Mandi and Steve! I can't wait to meet Lizzie!! =) Congratulations!

8 Years of Wedded Bliss!

On our anniversary we went to THE MELTING POT for the first time.

It was SO fun and SO tasty and such a cool experience. Unfortunately, it's a bit on the pricey side so we won't be able enjoy it very often.
These aren't our pictures but it's kind of like what we got. The artichoke spinach cheese dip was divine. I'm going to see if I can recreate it at home!

THEN the following weekend we headed up to Dallas. Mandi and Steve watched our kiddos and we had our first getaway in years! It was a blast. We went to a movie, shopped, went bowling, ate and ate and just relaxed. Great weekend.

Our hotel was at the airport. Our exit was Terminal B. Hahahaha! No wonder we got such a great deal on Priceline!

I can't believe it's been 8 years! I'm a lucky girl to have such a great guy!!

Caterpillar Spring!

Meet Dave and Ollie:

They were our little buddies for a week before we set them free! The girl's found them crawling all over Hallie and Peyton's porch. Pretty cool!

We were super excited about this cocoon we saw right outside our window!

I went outside for a closer look and got this awesome picture:

It wasn't a cocoon after all! It was a monster caterpillar! We kept him for a couple days and observed that he eats A LOT and poops even more!
I'm pretty sure that none of our little friends will turn into beautiful butterflies - they are destined to be moths. At least that's what google says. =)

Happy Cinco De Mayo ( a whole month late!)!!

We love Cinco De Mayo and try to have a fun fiesta every year! We had lots of yummy Mexican food, a pinata, and good friends. Doesn't get much better than that!

Here are the guys! This picture cracks me up because we had been teasing them about how they made sure not to touch so Nathan did the whole movie theater "yawn and stretch". Pretty funny!
