10 Years!

Nathan and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary on May 17! It's been a wonderful 10 years with so many great memories. I love him so much and feel so blessed that he is mine.

Here we are 10 years ago on our honeymoon.

We haven't changed too much - just have a few extra pounds(on ME!), gray hairs, and wrinkles but at least we got them together! Isn't he handsome?!

I feel so grateful to be this happy and in love 10 years later! I'm excited to see what the next 10 years will bring!

Brenan's Surgery

Our little dude had quite the rough week and a half following his surgery to get his tonsils and adenoids removed. I actually started to wonder if he'd ever get back to the normal, happy kid we were used to. He went in fasting on a Friday morning in May and got to wear the cutest, little hospital gown ever. He had a great time playing on Dad's ipad while he waited. It took forever for the sedation meds to kick in but once they did he was hilarious!

Here we are waiting:
 Playing games on the ipad:
Here is a look into Bren's mouth and at his huge tonsils!

He was not very happy when he was brought out to me. We weren't able to leave until he ate a popsicle or drank some water or juice. He didn't want anything! They finally let us go and he got the royal treatment - a ride in a radio flyer wagon! Look how pathetic he looks! He could hardly stay sitting up!
At home he slept a lot., puked a couple times, sweat profusely and was happy to eat on day one - his first choice was doritos! Weird!

We thought recovery would be a breeze because he was doing so well that first day home but after that it was not so fun. He hated the medicine so Nathan would mix it with Hershey's syrup. After that he took it ok. One of the biggest problems we had was that he didn't want to swallow anything so he would sit there and let drool and anything else that went into his mouth pool up in his cheeks until it finally came dribbling out. by the end of the 10 days he was skin and bones. I don't know if it was the medicine or just being dehydrated/hungry but he slept and slept and slept and had no energy for several days. My only advice coming out of this is to STAY ON TOP OF THE MEDS for at least the first 2-3 days. We missed a dose one time by 2 hours the first night and it was HORRIBLE! Poor little guy. Also, don't buy a ton of food. Wait until after the surgery and see what they want. He didn't eat any of the fun things we bought beforehand. His speech has definitely improved and I know he is sleeping better so I'm very glad we did it and even more glad that it's in the past and that my sweet boy is back (with a much higher voice - it's SOOO cute!).

Swimming on the Rooftop

In May we visited San Antonio again because Nathan had some continuing education courses to do. I hardly took any pictures! We saw old friends, visited Seaworld (I was much more prepared this time and it was a lot more fun!), played at the park, and went swimming in the rooftop pool of our hotel. The kids were in heaven! Can't wait to have a pool in our own backyard someday!

Random Pictures

Here are some fun pictures from March and April 2012. I need to do some serious updates on my kids but that will have to wait until after our move. =)

Anika & Sawyer right before our spring break trip to San Antonio.

We went to lunch with Nathan and Brenan was SO happy to be hanging out with his daddy!

On our way home from San Antonio Brenan puked all over his old car seat and I couldn't figure out how to get the cover off of it. That was all the push I needed to put his in a booster! He was thrilled to be big like his sisters.

These just make me laugh!

Anika got glasses. She hardly ever wears them. Bless her for choosing a super expensive pair!

The girls love to play with Sawyer! This was before she was ALL OVER THE PLACE - she would not stay this still anymore.

Brenan wanted me to take a picture of his dragon shirt but refused to smile. Haha!

Starting to get some pudge! This was back in March.

Bren LOVES his baby.

Kes lost another tooth!

Sawyer

This picture still makes me laugh! I went in to check on my girls before bed and found Anika like this. What a goofball! Haha!

Brenan's favorite thing to do is play geotrax.

Hahahahahahaha! Poor Sawyer!

Brenan's second favorite thing to do is play crash with his cars. He tries to get as many cars as possible piled up on his little ramp thing.

Nathan went to the girl's open house back in March and they got to show off all their classrooms and all their fun work. Keslie was VERY proud! She is quite the star student. They earn "paws" throughout the year and she is one out of 2 kids that have earned more than 10 (she's on 20!).

Here are a couple from Anika's room:

Sawyer is crazy! She started rolling over (front to back and back to front) at 1.5 months. Once she discovered she could roll she didn't last long in the bouncer!

Brenan loves to play starfall.

Here is Sawyer at 4 months. I'll do a more in depth update on her VERY soon! She is almost 6 months!

We hate fire ants. That's just one bite. Imagine Keslie's foot last summer when she had 48 bites! Yikes!

Waiting patiently for their crepes on conference Sunday morning!

Chillin' in the bumbo.

Brenan didn't want solids until he was 6.5 months. Sawyer was grabbing at our food by 4 months so we went ahead and got her started. She loves sweet potatoes and green beans and hates peas (but she'll tolerate them because she is like her mama and can't say no to food!).

Anika likes to take millions of pictures with my phone. Here is one of Sawyer and me.

Anika pushed Sawyer all over the house in the tonka truck and Sawyer just chilled like this the whole time. They are so cute!

That's it for my random photo catch up! Next up: Our trip to San Antonio, Brenan's tonsillectomy, Mother's Day, our 10 year anniversary, and buying a house! Hooray!!

Easter Sunday Pictures

Easter Sunday was such a wonderful day. I'm so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ and that he selflessly gave his life for all of us so that we can live again after we die and be with our loved ones forever.

My heart is full to bursting as I look at these pictures. I am so thankful for these sweet children. I don't know how I got so lucky to be their mom but I'm not complaining! =) I'm so grateful for the Plan of Salvation and to know that I can be with my family forever.

Sawyer was sleeping so we didn't get a complete sibling shot. Bummer.

Little miss Sawyer - love that big mouth grin!
