I don't know if any of you watched any of the Oscars - but I had to share this funny clip. Our rule is no TV on Sundays - but I have a weakness for the red carpet - so the rule is usually broken about 3 times a year - THE GOLDEN GLOBES, THE OSCARS, and I guess I should count the season premiere of 24. I know. I should have recorded it. No lectures please. =)

Watching the garbage truck
What is it about garbage trucks? When I was a kid and I'd hear the sound of the garbage man coming down the ally I'd drop everything and run to the window. Now my girls do the same thing! They have a much better view that I did though. Anyway - I thought this was a cute picture even though the lighting is terrible and the viewer (you) gets a little peak at Anika's Cinderella panties! I hope everyone is having a great week so far!! See ya!

Pictures from WINTER FORMAL
Well - here are a bunch of pictures from the Formal we went to last Friday! Hopefully I will get some more pictures and videos from everyone else - so there might be more later! If you want to see them better, you can click on the picture and it will pull it up in a bigger size. We had such a fun time!! The DJ was pretty pathetic so Nathan and I didn't have the opportunity to REALLY show off our hip dance moves. Haha!! Thank you thank you Natalie and Scott for watching the girls!! It was such a nice break and we appreciated it soo much!
In other news:
My girls are STILL sick. Will it ever end??? Anika had a fever all day yesterday - but it's gone this morning. Just a lot of snot and coughing. We had a fun weekend - On Saturday we took the girl's to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheeses. Then that night we went over to our friend's house and played some Nintendo WII. Pretty fun!!
Anika and Keslie were in love with this "hat" last night. It was handmade special by daddy!
These two just really love eachother. I wish that I had gotten this on video instead of just pictures. They were SO giddy and cuddly. It was hilarious!
This was Keslie's first experience with RICE KRISPY TREATS and she was NOT a fan.
It's so fun to wake up to snow. It makes winter so much more tolerable. I think. The trees don't seem so barren when they are covered in snow!

Anika's Fashion Statement
Well - this morning I sent Anika in to get some clothes and she emerged from her room wearing this snazzy little number. Notice that her pjs are still on underneith? She was so proud.
Another one - just because I think she's cute even when she's a ragamuffin.
One of Anika's favorite hangouts.
The other day Keslie was being sad and sick and I needed to get going on dinner so I asked Anika if she would take care of Keslie for me. They got all snuggled up under the blankets and were happy as can be. A couple minutes later I heard them laughing and giggling and I just thought it was so cute that they are such good buddies.
Anika told me yesterday that her boogers were all gone and that we needed to go to the store and buy some more. =)
Nothing much more to report here - still trying to get rid of this cold the girls have had for months! Eagerly awaiting warmer weather! Nathan and I are going to a FORMAL dance on Friday night. I'm wearing a RED dress! Pretty excited about that! I'll post some pictures afterwards.
Have a happy day!

Anika has said a few cute things lately and I wanted to get them down before I forgot them!
*Last night I got a HUGE splinter in my big toe (this is why I don't like wood floors). Anyway - it hurt somethin' fierce! She was watching me try to dig it out with a pin and suddenly she yelled "I have to run out of here so I won't be sick!" I had a good laugh about that.
*The other day I was feeling kind of (understatement) frustrated with her so I sat down on the rocking chair, covered my face with my hands and tried to breathe deeply. She came up to me and said "What you thinkin' about mom? Are you thinking that you want to snuggle with me?" Well - that's not what I had been thinking about -but her being so cute definitely made me want to. =) She is always asking us what we are thinking about. She came into my room in the middle of the night and asked me what I was thinking.
I love being a mom. =)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!
Nathan got the girl's little boxes of chocolates and they were so excited!! I tried to get Keslie to hold it and smile but all she could think about was CHOWING down. So far today has been pretty normal. We were going to deliver cookies to friends today but it has been raining ICE all day. We will just have to do late deliveries.

I am such a sap and LOVE love songs. I love youtube because you can find just about any music video that you want. Anyway - I was thinking about some of my favorite songs and looked up the music videos for them. OH MY GOSH! Most of them are pretty darn cheesy. AND THE HAIR!! Holy cow. CABIN FEVER
Well folks I feel like doing a little blogging, although I'm not really sure what I will write! We've had a pretty uneventful week. I admit I will gladly wave goodbye to the winter season this year! I'm tired of being stuck in the house! I long to take the girls to the park and let them run free in the grass or go to the swimming pool and let them splash around or do any and all of the other wonderful GOOD weather things there are to do - outside. =) As you can tell, I'm feeling a bit of cabin fever. Bring on the GREEN!!!
We got a prize in the mail today! New cell phones!! I got the CHOCOLATE - pretty slick! Mine is actually the cherry chocolate. I'm excited! With this one I can take pictures and listen to music! Now I just need to figure it out!
I was looking at someone's blog and noticed that they had a link to BYU-IDAHO - so from there I searched the faculty and found a picture of my dear Dad! Pride bubbled within me! I also found a list of speakers for the "21st annual symposium" and he is on the list!! I SO wish I could be there. I know that my mom will get to go - what fun it would be to join her! A snippet of his topic follows:
Choosing to Enjoy the Gifts of the Spirit -- There is an irony that exists in the lives of many people. They believe they want to be happy, but choose thoughts and habits which produce sorrow. This contradiction can be corrected.
Sounds like it will be a really good talk.
The girls are just DANG cute!! Anika has been using phrases such as "It's the best thing in the world!" and "OH!! That's wonderful!" and "OH DANG IT!" and I just wish I could explain in words how incredibly cute her voice gets when she is being cheesy or excited or telling me about something. But alas, it's something you have to hear to appreciate! She is in love with the primary song 'WE ARE A HAPPY FAMILY'. We sing it all the time!! And when we get through me, Nathan, Keslie and Anika, we have to start singing "I love Stella (Keslie's baby doll) she loves me, we love Kara (Anika's baby doll) yesiree... and it goes on and on until we've sung about all of their dollies and teddy bears. They are also really into this really LAME song I made up the other day while Anika was eating BOTTLECAPS candy. I sing "SODA POPPA CANDY, SODA POPPA CANDY, SODA POPPA CANDY YEAH!! The whole time they dance like crazy and then freeze as best they can until I start up again. It's really funny.
Little miss Keslie is getting more teeth. At least these will be her last until her second molars come in. She cried pretty hard when I put her to bed tonight and she never does that! She had finally settled down when I hear Anika say "tickle tickle Keslie and laughing in her cute Anika laugh. Needless to say it set her off again and she cried for awhile longer. I was pretty grumpy at Anika. She just loves her sister and doesn't want her asleep before she gets there. The other night she came in to ask Nathan if he could wake Keslie up so that she could play with her. Haha. Cute little girl. Keslie loves her big sister and tries to copy everything she does.
The past couple of weeks they have been in love with cushion diving. I'll post some pictures soon. Our camera has been out of commission (battery problems) but it will be up and running by tomorrow.
Yesterday was my baby sisters 7th birthday! Happy birthday (a day late!!) Baylie and Carlie!! Here are a couple pictures I stole from an e-mail my mom sent me of the girls on their birthday and of all the kids (minus Alyssa and the older moved out kids). What a fun family I have!

Enough of my ramblings! Hope you all had a happy hump day!

It's February!
I had to get some pink in my blog for V-day!! OKAY - I know that the old style was ALL pink - I guess I just wanted a change. We'll see how long this one lasts! Well - it's 2:00 and both girls are already up from their naps. It's been a long day!! This morning I had such high hopes! After Nathan headed off to the school to study I dived into the task of getting the 3 of us girls into our snow clothes. That's right! We finally got some snow worth playing in! It took me an hour to get us ready. I was SO tired and grumpy once we were done that I considered just taking everything off and staying in. I'm not much of a snow bunny! I don't like to be cold! But, Anika was SO excited so I decided to press on. I had the camera all ready to take some snow shots but both sets of batteries were dead. SO bummed. Keslie was a little poof ball. She had on a size four snow suit, 2 socks and a sandwich bag on each foot (that was my bright idea for keeping her feet dry, she doesn't have snow boots), a REALLY poofy pink coat, Nathan's beanie (her hat was in the car) and 2 socks on each hand. I was pretty bummed - they were completely dressed before I realized that the mittens were also in the car. Anyway - it was quite the ordeal. I pulled the girls in our little sled out to the park behind our house so that we could slide down the hills. I quickly realized that it just wasn't going to work. All 3 of us weren't fitting on the sled, Anika didn't want to go by herself and I couldn't very well leave Keslie at the top of the hill. Poor little thing. By this point she was wearing my HUGE gloves because her sock mittens were all wet and Nathan's beanie kept going down over her eyes. I kept forgetting that she couldn't see and I'd set her down to help Anika with something and Keslie would fall and go rolling. So - we headed home. Anika was SOO mad! I was carrying Keslie and she was so heavy and slippery! Anika insisted on holding one of my hands and I wore the sled like a purse. And I didn't even get any pictures! Never again. Not without Nathan.
The dreaded day has arrived. Anika's naps are no more. I still put her down for some quiet time in the afternoon - but I'm going to miss those 3 hours I used to get!! She's so funny. When I lay her in the pack n' play she always asks for a lid. So, we put a blanket over the top and she plays in there for a good hour or so. It's her little hideout.
Happy Groundhog's day yesterday!! I have a friend that LOVES Groundhog's day and so because of her I love it! Notice that I changed my "fun sites to visit" to "Sites I dig"? That is in honor of Suzanne. I know that Groundhog's are more known for their weather predicting - but I was researching them for a poem I was supposed to write - and found out that they like to DIG in the dirt. A poem was supposed to be our ticket into her Groundhog party. Unfortunately, her whole family got sick so the party was cancelled. At least I was off the hook for writing a poem!
Well - Keslie is in DIRE need of a diaper change! So until next time...

It gets me every time!!
I just watched a little bit of "The Notebook". Most romantic movie ever!!! Anyway - I'm laughing now because I just looked down and noticed that my shirt is covered in tears. What a bawl baby I am!!
I'm excited to see "Because I said so" this weekend! I'm going on a girl's night out! Nathan has a test on Monday so he will have his nose in his notes all weekend. We are pretty excited for some of this years entertainment.
Top 3 -
SPIDERMAN 3
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3
AND
HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HOLLOWS!!
I can't wait to read that book!! There has been much debate with friends and family and it will be fun to see if any of our theories are correct! I'm a little bummed though. The lady at Barnes and Noble said that she thought it was being published in April. What a let down!!
This past month I read Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte(so-so), East of Eden by John Steinbeck(loved it), Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte(loved it!) and Second Glance by Jodi Picoult (couldn't put it down). I love to read!! Any recommendations? Tonight I am starting Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Ann See (Lee??) for book club. I've heard it's really good and it sounds like something I would enjoy.
Well, we are off to the post office!! Have a great Thursday!!

Anika just made my day
SO CUTE! I was cleaning up the kitchen while the girls were eating and Anika just out of the blue said "Mom, you are always very pretty."
AHHH! I had to write it down before I forgot!
One more tidbit -
For primary activity day a couple weeks ago we made prayer rocks so I've been helping Anika say her "personal" morning and night time prayers. She usually doesn't want to say it on her own so I help her. This morning she decided that she wanted to tell ME what to say - so it started out pretty normally and then inevitable went on to thanking Heavenly Father for everything in the room. It started with her bed, then to her carebears rainbow belly and then just kept going and going and going. Meanwhile Keslie was getting fussy so finally I said "okay Anika, now it's time to start saying "please bless us to have a good day". Of course she said "NO mom, I'm saying it, you don't tell me!" So I in turn raised my voice, just a little and said "okay then!! but it's time to finish up!". So the next thing she says is "please bless mommy to be nice."
She's pretty cute. I love that little girl!

Fun website
Well - Nathan introduced me to this website - www.retrojunk.com and it has commercials and TV shows and everything from the 80's! SO funny to remember this stuff! Anyway - I ran across ZOOBILEE ZOO and Kelyn and I are always trying to remember the song for it. Here it is Kel! This ones for you! I posted it from YOUTUBE because I didn't want to take the time to figure out how to do it from the retro junk site. Enjoy!!

Our Fun Week
Wow! I can't believe it's Saturday night again!! We had such a fun week! I think that Anika was trying to make up for last week because she has been out of control happy and talkative! She is so funny! We've been doing a lot of things that take me back to my childhood. The girls are really into me being a "slugbug". Kelyn and I used to do this all the time. Basically, they sit on my belly and use my head as a steering wheel and I crab walk around the room. They think it's hilarious and it about wears me out! We also took turns rolling up in blankets and pretending to be worms. Another fun past-time! The girls had fun helping me make muddy buddies! I got a couple pictures.
My little MUDDY BUDDIES:

It's fun to walk into a room and catch my girls reading all by themselves. Keslie's just started to do it a lot more. I walked into the living room and found her on her rocking chair just reading away - now it's a daily occurrence. Here is a picture - and of course Anika wanted a couple taken of her too. =)

THEN tonight Nathan and I were fixing something in our room while Anika was bathing. Keslie had already taken her bath and was all ready for bed. I walked into the bathroom to check on Anika and found this:
Friday night we went with some friends to Chuck E. Cheeses. Anika is in love with this place now!!!

I had a baby shower at my house on Saturday for my cute friend June. That was a lot of fun! I love baby showers and we have tons of pregnant girls right now so I will get to go to a bunch of them! Lots of boys - my friend Jenn just had her baby boy, then we've got two more due in the next couple months and one will be a surprise!

This should be a fun week. I'm going to be watching my friend's baby on Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting this week so that she can finish her last class before she gets to graduate!! Yeah! She is just a little younger than Keslie so they really like eachother. I also get to go to the doctor - alright! =) It's just for a check up - I haven't been to a regular doctor in forever.
Keslie is saying more and more every day. She said Anika perfectly last week! I couldn't believe it and I'm starting to doubt it actually happened because I can't get her to do it again. Anything to drink is Joosh and she says shoes just like Anika did - Ush. She thinks it's great fun to dry off her own hands when she gets them washed. Mom - I think Baylie has some competition - Keslie has been blowing HUGE snot bubbles and whenever she sneezes we run for the kleenex! Yikes!
Anika has this crazy thing where she has to clean out in between her toes many times during the day. If she has footy pj's on she'll say "Ope! I have a fuzzy in my toes! I better clean them!" and then she'll strip down. Shoes and socks come off at the weirdest times - playgroup, the car, the Dr's office. Nice.
She's been talking a lot about when she was a "wittle" girl. So funny.
Anyway - that's it for now! Happy Sunday!

Well - the difference between this week and last is like NIGHT and DAY!! Anika is happy and playing and laughing again and BOY am I glad! We just got home from Keslie's 15 mo. check-up. Poor thing had to get two shots. She did very well. It cracks me up because when she was born she was in the 95th percentile for weight and 90th for height. Now she is in the 20th for weight and 50th for height. So crazy!! Anyway - Nathan just forwarded me a preview to the new movie BLADES OF GLORY with Will Ferrell and Jon Heder and all I have to say is OH MY GOSH. Thought I'd share with everyone - I can't decide if I think it looks totally hilarious or just really, really dumb!! Haha!
